La Maison d’Amélie (Annot, in the district of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), run by Monaco Disease Power and dedicated to the welfare of the differently-abled, is supported since its inception by the Foundation.
During the meeting, the MDP members presented the results of their activities of the past year as well as their future plans, mainly the acquisition of a land adjoining La Maison d’Amélie to build an annex with new services designed for the seasonal residents of the holiday facility.
Furthermore, MDP undertakes actions in relationship with autism, a psychological condition observed from earliest infancy which disturbs the communication, interaction and grasp of abstract reasoning of the subject. In France, more than 250,000 individuals are reported to be living with this condition.
The executive team of the Foundation, sensitive to the projects led by the MDP, also exchanged with Dr. Catherine Barthelemy, Professor of the Université François-Rabelais (Tours). She is the Medical Advisor of the Association.
The Foundation wishes to encourage MDP in its efforts to improve the diagnosis of autism it undertakes in contact with the academic world.
