The 26th Roma International Piano Competition, organised in the Italian capital by the Fryderyk Chopin Association, will be held from October 28 – November 7, 2016. The Cuomo Foundation has been the main sponsor of this annual event since 2004.

Every year, over 150 international young pianists participate in this coveted event to rub shoulders with the very best of their generation. The jury is composed of prominent figures of the international classical music scene. Last year’s competition recorded the highest number of entrants in its’ 25 year history: 171 pianists from over 5 continents. The competitive section of the event will be held during the first 10 days at the San Giovanni Battista dei Genovesi Cloisters. The contest will culminate with a closing night winners concert and awards ceremony, to be held this year for the first time at the Quirino-Vittorio Gassman Theatre.
