Since 2016, the Cuomo Foundation awards scholarships to students of the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television (EICTV) of Cuba. Faced with the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the activities of the film school are currently at a standstill. Here is a testimony from San Antonio de Los Baños.
“You can imagine the madness that upsets the daily life of this place with personalities who regularly visit us from so many parts of the world. We have had to suspend the trips of teachers coming from abroad, international workshops, etc. Only students and teachers who live in the school are locked up here and we reorganize the classes as much as possible with Cuban teachers. So far, I am doing well and without anxiety. But I’m going to have to stay in the school, so that I don’t have to go back and forth between Havana and San Antonio de Los Baños . This is a good measure even if there are not so many cases in Cuba (so far there are 40 cases that are imported or introduced by travellers). But it is known that the situation can easily get worse.
Finally, we thank you for sending the funds for tuition fees for those students who have already received it.
Please be very careful because in Europe it is very serious.
Greetings to Elena. »
