Maestro Marcella Crudeli and Ms Carlotta Masci after their four-hand interpretation of Johannes Brahms’ Danse hungroise N. 4 & 5

The Associazione Culturale “Fryderyk Chopin” organised a concert on May 17, 2017 at the Francesco Vivona High School in Rome. It was part of a series of cultural events launched by the association in different places in the capital: schools, hospitals, prisons.

Set up in parallel to “Roma” International Piano Competition, association’s main event, this series of musical programs responds to two objectives: passing on musical knowledge and using culture as a social link. Alongside the young musicians of the Academy of the European Piano Teachers’ Association (EPTA) who participated in the show, two high school pupils also had the opportunity to perform on stage.

Mrs Maria Elena Cuomo, Mrs Marianne Ghione and Mr Janaka Samarakoon represented the Foundation at the event. After the concert, Maestro Marcella Crudeli invited the Foundation members to her residence for a private recital. Scherzo No. 2, Op. 31 by Chopin she performed there was specially dedicated to Roshan Susairaj and her family, who were also present at the reception. The other special guest of the evening was Rev. Don J. Anthony. This former student of Kovalam School (India) has worked closely with the Foundation during the early years of 2000. He now is reading for his thesis at the Pontificio Collegio S. Pietro Apostolo in Rome.

The Cultural Association “Fryderyk Chopin” and the EPTA Academy are run by Maestro Crudeli. The “Roma” competition she founded in 1989 benefits from the Foundation’s support since 12 years.
