“A Happy Education Journey” – Deepa L. from Sendivakkam

Deepa.L from Alfredo Cuomo Higher Secondary School, Sendivakkam, South India benefits from the Elena Cuomo Scholarship Program. Established in 2014, the initiative encourages academically bright young girls to continue in higher studies. Deepa.L entered the fellowship program in 2015 and has been receiving continued assistance to date. She now is entering her 4th year of academics in Engineering Science and wishes to thank the Cuomo Foundation and its President for the guidance provided so far.

Dear Elena Madam, 

I’m Deepa.L from R.C Higher Secondary School at Sendivakam. I’m one of the budding flower’s, ready to have a bright future in engineering field and experiencing a happy education journey with the help of yours. I’m writing this letter in gratitude of your generous contribution towards scholarships. I’m  pursuing my B.E. final year at Karpaga Vinayaga college of engineering and technology on the track of ECE. I’m enjoying my academics at its peak. In my college there are a lot of activities and one among that is Zmentor which holds top five students from each class that encourages our knowledge apart from academics. By this year our college holds a placement training too.

This year is a huge stress for me due this pandemic COVID-19 situation. Because my family is a middle class family that holds four members including my two younger sisters. My mother is a single parent and she cannot contribute this huge amount on my education. In this situation I cannot even imagine my education without your scholarship ; it is the only path that pays me a way to continue my studies. 

Without a doubt, this scholarship plays a most important role in my life for pursuing my educational dreams. Because of your generosity the financial burden enforced on my family is reduced to a great extent. So I can concentrate on my studies and placement training than wasting my time on worrying about my family situation and financial crisis.

Only because of your help I successfully completed the third year of my engineering. I hope to continue my studies for upcoming fourth year.
