The 4th edition of the Festival for The Earth (FOR ) was launched yesterday morning—Nov 6, 2019—at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco. Curated by Maria Rebecca Ballestra, a visual artist born in Italy and living in Monaco, the FOR considers itself “an art project for social transformation”.
The Cuomo Foundation is among the institutional sponsors of the festival, made possible by the contribution of several institutional and corporate partners such as the Ca’Foscari University in Venice, the Prince Albert II Foundation – Monaco and the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).
The welcome speech was given by Maria Rebecca Ballestra, launching this year’s session at Museum’s “Salle Séminaire”. Francisco A. Diaz Lison, CEO of the Cuomo Foundation, introduced its involvement in the field of environment and scientific research as well as the sense of this new partnership. The welcome ceremony was soon followed by a day-long program of keynote speeches, art events and a film screening, all focusing on science, research and creativity.
As part of the FOR line-up, a presentation of the Cuomo Foundation’s actions and commitment around the world is due this evening, November 7, by Ruth Gòmez, Cuomo Foundation’s Project Manager.
